Happy Monday!

I think Mondays are only happy in the summer - or when it's holiday.

After viewing Facebook this morning I feel like my weekend should have been spent head to toe in red, white, and blue, in a pool/on a lake/engaging some kind of water activity, eating copious amounts of BBQ, and watching/setting off fireworks. Seriously, is it just me or does every holiday seem bigger than before? I know I've read articles about how parents feel that have to celebrate every holiday with perfect Pinterest crafts, Elf on the Shelf, etc.? But many of my friends are without kids. I don't know - maybe I'm just being a a bit curmudgeonly but it just seems like so much work to enjoy something.

Despite my little side rant just now, I didn't spend the weekend on the couch with the blinds drawn - that was only Sunday. I did manage to make it to the Cardinals game on Saturday with my entire family. Unfortunately, we lost in the 9th inning. But it was still a great game - saw back to back home runs! We then BBQ'd back at our house.

Today I'm hanging out with my friend Emily - were headed to lunch and then crafting. Fun times. The rest of the week will be spent in workshops and hopefully putting together the TV console for the living room. Pictures to come soon!

Going to the pool about 3 days a week. It has been far more enjoyable than I thought it would.

Trying to not start the back to school countdown. It's JULY people! I'm guessing only about two more weeks until the anxiety laden dreams begin. I will always worry about missing the first day of school due to oversleeping.

Planning a 5th of July BBQ after the Cardinals game. I'm thinking cheesy potatoes and pork steaks. YUM!

Starting to pull together a plan for really decorating the living room. I've learned over the past three years that I have decorating paralysis. I'd rather not do anything out of fear of making the wrong choices. But I will fear no more! I pulled together an inspiration board and I think I'm going to make the first purchase towards this design tomorrow...that sweet-ass fireplace TV console from Wayfair.
Itching to go shopping - birthday month is fast approaching, so I must hold off. I can't wait for all the coupons to start showing up in my inbox.

Waiting ever so patiently for Erin Condren to launch their notebooks. Somehow I've earned $40 to spend through referrals and I'm giddy!

Wanting to be more active - it is so tempting to lay (lie?) on the couch all day and I may have indulged myself a time or two already this summer.

A pretty low key week passed on by. It was highlighted by...

The lazy days of summer are definitely here. I spend my mornings reading blogs, the afternoons at the pool, and the evenings just hanging out with the boyfriend, cooking dinner and watching the Cardinal's game.

Life is good.

What's making life even easier is this little guy...

This is the first summer in probably 14 years where I'm at the pool multiple times a week in a bikini - and 14 years ago I didn't have to worry about shaving, like, at all. Now, my legs, underarms, and other areas (ahem) need daily attention. #ladyproblems

The Venus Snap razor makes shaving easy even if I forget to shave or miss a spot because I just toss it in my pool bag. Its small size makes it convenient to take anywhere. The cute little case even has holes in it so water can't get trapped. I'll definitely be able to pack #inasnap for my float trip in a few weeks.Hooray for lighter bags when I travel!

I've always loved Venus razors and was excited to try the Snap -I was surprised at how smooth my legs felt after shaving, even with no shaving cream. The razor has built in moisturizing strips so I won't have to use additional products for a smooth shave. The handle is tiny and did take a moment to get used to but with the textured grip I wasn't scared of cutting myself.

As the saying goes, "less is more." The Venus Snap is able to deliver the same silky, smooth shave as a full-sized razor without using additional products and in half the packaging.  Win-win in my book!

Sometimes we just need to be reminded of what's going right in life - whether it be big or small -so I thought that each Sunday (or darn near close to it) I would take some time and post them here - feel free to share yours as well!

- Completed Week 1 of the Push Up Challenge.

- Went to the pool twice last week.

- Found $20 in a side pocket of a purse I took to the ball game on Thursday night which I then spent on hot dogs and Cokes for Chris and I. #treatyoself

- Redeemed a month's worth of Swagbucks for a $50 Paypal gift card. Gotta love free money! Thanks to Stephanie at Not Entirely Perfect for pushing me to get back on the Swagbucks wagon. I'm hoping to be able to have a nice little birthday spending spree in August with my Swagbucks loot. Happy birthday to me!

What can you celebrate today? Hope you've had a great weekend!

Since I'm not teaching summer school this year - my weeks are rather open, so I've decided that I need a project (or two) to occupy my time.

The first of which - the Push Up Challenge.

The challenge is simple - complete 100 consecutive push ups in six weeks.

For some of you this may be an easy feat, but for me - this is akin to climbing Mount Everest. I have the upper body strength of 90 year old.

I downloaded the 100 Push Ups app to keep track of my progress. Monday was Day 1 and after completing 10 push ups in TOTAL - my arms and chest felt like jello the next day.

And just to keep myself accountable and track my progress, I thought I would post a little video update here and there.

Yes, it's sad. I know.

But hopefully, I will be able to touch my nose to the floor and do more than one push up at a time in just a few short weeks. Here's hoping!

What are you up to this summer? Crossing anything off your life list or completing any challenges?

The last time I posted was in February - yeesh. While I may have taken a blog vacation, ok, blog coma, that doesn't mean I wasn't thinking about writing and this little space of mine. As I logged on to Bloglovin' each day to read about other's lives and happenings I was reminded about my own piece of the web where I should be sharing but I just wasn't interested in writing about my life for awhile. Chalk it up to being busy at school, arthritis draining the daylight out of me, or whatever excuse I want to insert here - I just didn't feel like it.

But now?

School's ending in 5 days and I'm not working summer school.

I'm ready to lay by the pool, read books, workout, eat better, blog more, and just be happy for 8 continuous weeks.

I think I'm ready.

Oh yeah. Definitely.
