Girls and Green Monsters

Sunday, January 13, 2013

January is turning out to be pretty rough on me. While I'm not exactly flu sick, I have the achiest body ever. I stayed home Monday and could barely get out of bed. All week, just dragging myself around feeling permanently hit by a truck. Here's hoping that I start feeling better soon. In the Good, Bad, and Ugly of this past weekend....it definitely makes the bad and ugly list.

Onto the Good, because there is so much good even when feeling crappy.

Since I logged so much couch time this week, I was slightly productive, reading Gone Girl in two days. If you haven't picked this book up yet, I highly recommend it. Sooo good.

Gone Girl
I watched season 1 of Girls over winter break and have been looking forward to season 2, which started tonight.

In keeping with my new year's goals, I tried a Green Monster smoothie today. And it's true what all the people in blog land say, it doesn't taste like spinach and is actually quite good! Although I wanna tweak the recipe a little bit, mine had too much peanut butter.

Back to the bad: I experienced a craft fail this weekend trying to make a magazine holder from a cereal box. You know the old saying measure twice, cut once? Well I should have definitely measured my magazines against the cereal box I was using because not one of them fit. Not Real Simple or Cosmo. Not even my small Cricut magazines.

But I'm in love with the wrapping paper I found in the dollar section at Target so I can't quite bare to throw it away just yet. By the way, Target has some beyond cute things right now - I may have had mini shopping spree there this weekend - thank goodness for gift cards!

How was your weekend? Did you watch Girls or the Golden Globes where it won a few awards? I think Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have done an awesome job so far - I have been laughing out loud a little too hard at some of their jokes. Ha!

  1. Gone Girl.............SOOOO GOOD! What did you think of the ending? Did your jaw hit the floor when you started part 2???

  2. Oh my god...part two took my breath away. Wasnt thrilled at the ending but after discussing it with a few coworkers I liked it a little better, the end was more a punishment for them instead of just ending like I first thought. Does that make sense? Dont want to give to much away for those who havent read it yet.
